Breast Augmentation

One of the most frequently requested plastic surgeries, augmentation mammoplasty enhances the size and shape of a woman's breasts.

Dr. O'Daniel first meets with the patient to gain a clear understanding of her wishes and surgery expectation.  He then uses sizers, digital imaging, and before-and-after photographs of similarly sized and shaped patients to approximate as closely as possible the patient's aesthetic expectations for herself following surgery.  When they are in full agreement about the desired outcome, Dr. O'Daniel thoroughly explains the recommended procedure, the potential risks, complications, recovery, and expected long-term results.

The typical procedure involves making an incision in the crease where the breast meet chest, around the aerola, or in the armpit, then placing an implant in a "sub-muscular pocket" directly under the breast tissue and chest muscle.  Dr. O'Daniel takes great care to make the incision scars as inconspicuous as possible, and to achieve a balanced, symmetical and well-proptioned outcome.

This procedure is typically done on an outpatient basis in our state-of-the-art, office-based, ambulatory surgery center, and the patient is back to work within a few days to a week.  Our post-operative follow-up visits are frequent initially after the procedure, then annually as long as the patient has the implants.
