Breast Lift
A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining tissue and nipples.
To ensure that doctor and patient are in perfect agreement about desired outcome, Dr. O'Daniel uses a range of imaging techniques to approximate as closely as possible the patient's aesthetic expectations for herself following surgery. Expectations clearly established, Dr. O'Daniel then thoroughly explains the recommended procedure, the potential risks, complications, recovery, and expected long-term results. The most common incision technique follows the natural contour of the breast, circling the aerola, extending downward and following the crease beneath the breast. Some patients, especially those with relatively small breasts and minimal sagging, may be candidates for modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions.
Dr. O'Daniel makes every effort to minimize visible scars, which are permanent but which will fade over time. Many of his breast lift patients decide to have their breasts enlarged at the same time to restore the fullness of the upper breast.
The breast life procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis in our state-of-the-art, office-based Ambulatory Surgery Center. Most patients are ready to return to work within a week.
