Aging is something that affects all of us. As we get older lines and wrinkles start to appear and our skin starts to lose its natural elasticity. Thankfully there are things you can do to combat the signs of aging.

Below are 5 of the most common signs of aging on the face and how to tackle them.

  1. Lines on the forehead
One of the first signs of aging for a lot of people is the appearance of lines on the forehead. Lines on the forehead are unfortunately a very noticeable sign of aging and something that many people want to get rid of. A great, non-invasive way to treat lines on the forehead is through the use of injectable treatments, such as Botox. Botox works by relaxing the muscles on the forehead and therefore significantly reducing the appearance of wrinkles. The results of Botox last for up to 4 months, after which more treatment can be administered.
  2. Lines and wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
Wrinkles around the eyes, known as crow’s feet, are another very common sign of aging on the face. Few things make a person look older than wrinkles around the eyes and therefore it’s something that many people want to avoid. In order to keep your skin looking as youthful as possible you should make your diet as clean as you can, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol. Botox can also be used to treat crow’s feet very effectively.
  3. Lines around the mouth
Lines generally tend to appear later in life and can be quite a stubborn form of aging to combat. Again the most reliable means of combating lines around the mouth is through the use of injectable treatments, such as Botox or Dysport.
  4. Fat below the chin
Fat below the chin (submental fat) is never desirable. It’s often a result of weight loss but can also occur as a natural sign of aging. When it comes to submental fat, some people are luckier than others. There are those who have a noticeable amount of submental fat even if they aren’t overweight. One of the most effective ways to tackle submental fat is through the use of Kybella. Kybella is a relatively new injectable treatment that’s used to specifically target submental fat.
  5. General sagging of the skin
As we age, the skin around the face starts to become looser and begins to sag. This certainly contributes to an aged look. When it comes to tackling sagging skin, you can take measures such as eating well, avoiding bad habits such as smoking and drinking; and using high quality moisturizers. As far as cosmetic surgery goes, a facelift is a very effective way to combat sagging skin. A face lift is used to lift the entire structure of the face up vertically in order to make the skin tighter and smoother.
