My name is David Self, and I’m a patient of Dr. O’Daniel. I met him probably six, seven years ago. Another doctor had come to Louisville to learn plastic surgery. Wanted to rent a house I had for sale, and I didn’t want to rent it because it had been completely renovated. He kept asking me. He says, please, kept nagging, stopping, calling. One day I said, “I’ll tell you what. Where do you live? I’ll just follow you there.” I followed him to his house, went inside, looked. They had two small children. House was neat, clean. They took their shoes off, because I had just put new hardwood floors in also. I said, “Okay. How long are you going to be here?” He said, “About two years.” I said, “All right. I’ll wait two years before I sell it.”
Then I developed the hanging under the chin. You look at all your friends that are older, because I’m older. I’m 70 years old. I thought, hell, I can’t look like that. I asked him. I said, “Who would you recommend? You’re down there studying.” He told me Dr. O’Daniels to who he was studying under. I said, “Make me an appointment. I want to go talk to him.” And, I did. In talking to him, I could tell he had a lot of passion about what he did. It was more to him than just the money. Then I started asking questions of other people I knew that had surgery. Some of them had heard about him. There was another doctor here at that time that everyone was raving about. His name was Celebrezze. I didn’t like the guy. The guy had an attitude. He was arrogant. He was about himself and about money, so I went to Dr. O’Daniels. Thought he did great, absolutely great.
What happened on the day Of Surgery?
I asked Dr. O’Daniel, I said, what hospital where we’d be going to. He said, well he had his own surgical center right up the street. Probably 7:00 in the morning, I don’t remember, I arrived there. Beautiful facility. Everyone’s well trained. Went in. Procedure went fine. Wife drove me home. Couple days later, Dr. O’Daniel stopped by my house to check on me, to see how I was doing which I was really surprised about that. Most professional people, they won’t devote their time or give up any free time to look in on their patients so I was very impressed.
Recovery From Surgery
Dr. O’Daniel, he calls to make sure you’re not in any excessive pain. Wants to know what’s going on, what you’re feeling. When I came out, my wife picked me up. There was no pain. I got home. I thought, “Damn! What have I done?” It was quite an experience. A couple days later, maybe three days later, he took the bandages off. It was well worth it. At first, you thought, “Oh my God. What have I done? This is bad.” Because you have drain tubes hanging out the back. You’re all wrapped up. You can’t lay down. You have to sit up. After three to four days, he takes the bandages off, and I was back to work probably in four to five days.
Are You Happy With Your Results ?
Yeah, and he did exactly what I wanted. I wanted to eliminate the stuff that was hanging under my chin at that time. Then I was happy with, I really didn’t pay that much attention to everything else. My friends and everyone keep saying “Something looks different. Something doesn’t look right.” Well, it was because the surgery, I look quite a bit younger.
You couldn’t tell that I had any thing done. They knew there was something different, but they didn’t know what, because with his procedures, everything looks natural afterwards. Your friends don’t come up and say “Damn, you look like Kenny Rodgers. Your face is peeled back,” or you know. They know somethings different, they just can’t put their finger on it.
Final Thoughts on Dr. O’Daniel
I could have went several different places because I have a lot of friends that are doctors and surgeons, a Dr. Scott, and there’s several of them. I went to him because after meeting him I could tell he was passionate about what he did. I felt like he had a natural talent for what he was doing. I have a lot of confidence in him. As it turns out, I’ve been right because he’s concerned about all his patients. He’s concerned about whether or not they’re satisfied with the procedures they had done. That’s why I recommended several people to him so far and will continue to do so.
Referring Friends And Family
I made an appointment with Dr. O’Daniel, went to his office and talked to him. I could tell right away that he was passionate about what he did. He was in it for more than just the money. My business, I’m in cosmetic business, manufacturing. I can usually pretty well tell when someone is in business just for the money. I was real comfortable with him after talking to him, so I went ahead with the procedure. Everything was great all the way through. Then I recommend my wife go there. I took her in there. Of course, we had developed a little bit of a relationship by then. I said, “Give her the works, doc,” so he did.
She’s just thrilled, because she’s sixty-nine years old on Medicare. She was feeling sick, I said, “We’ll stop at a Medicare center, and you can just go in there. Maybe they’ll give you some antibiotics.” We did. We went in. She told the guy, “Well, I’ve got a Medicaid card.” She handed him the card. He said, “Oh, no. No, no. This is fraud. That’s not you. You’re not that old.” He made her produce a photo ID, driver’s license before he would accept her Medicare card. Well, that just thrilled her to death, and has been ever since. Then I had other friends that had issues with their appearance, their age and face. I sent them to Dr. O’Daniel. They’ve all been thrilled. I’ll continue to send people there. Matter of fact, I’m sending my sister there in about three more months.
